HD650 delivers true music to the ear. Audiophile HD quality.
HD 650 delivers audiophile HD quality music. Very pleased.
Audio is crisp
Thanks for the Fast Delivery, received the HD650 the next day. However, if the delivery could be delivered on the same day of ordering, that would be perfect.
I already had 1 x HD650 which was bought in 2010, but it's spoilt. This second unit is a replacement for the spoilt unit.
With all the excellent reviews the Sennheiser HD 650 has had over the years, I knew I would be happy with my recent purchase. However, they exceeded my expectations, and I was amazed at how well they sounded with all genres of music I listened to. The HD 650 stood well against my other (more expensive) audiophile headphones, and they have become my daily preference. It’s easy to see (and hear!) how this gem has stood the test of time and remains a favourite of many audiophiles.
I found marginal improvement of HD650 over the Audio Technica M50X. Perhaps, i need to get a higher model for a better experience.
I own both HD600 and HD650 as my reference headphone for mixing and practicing. Just buying another to put at different venue.
Good experience with the purchase
Great sound quality and build. A little tight so not too comfortable to wear with glasses.
Great sound and very comfortable…
Clear and precise sound, and comfortable to wear. Very good product !
Got these on sale, if you haven't yet, do yourself a favor and get these now. These have excellent excellent bass extension and vocals are very smooth sounding.
Very neutral, lots of detail, these headphones will fully reveal themselves when plugged into a good amp. Great value especially when on sale. Recommended accessories: a shorter cable is more appropriate in certain situation and a balanced cable to extract their full potential.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Best headphone i ever owned in this price range.
The best headphones I have used!I will keep it forever.
Now, I'm by no means an audiophile, so take my opinions with a pinch of salt. My first pair of headphones was the HD 598, which I got around four to five years ago. Paired with a Fiio E10k, they blew my mind. I had never had headphones like that before. The grand soundstage, the clear notes and natural tones. I was perfectly satisfied with my set up until recently, when I upgraded my E10k's for the Fiio K5 pro. The quality of music sounded cleaner... but the flaws of the HD 598 somehow became more noticeable. The highs, especially, were suddenly too sharp. Maybe I would say that the music became more revealing of the flaws in those cans. It enhanced both the good and the bad.
And then I saw the HD 650s on sale for half price. After going on a review warpath, I was torn between the 600s and these. Luckily, I went to demo the 600s at an audio store and found that they were too neutral for my tastes. Too boring. The HD 598s are described as 'fun' headphones and now I can see why. Thus, I went with the 650s in the end. It felt a little like fate, I'd admit, and the 650s are often described as a warm sounding, comforting headphones.
Yes, indeed they are. I haven't taken the 650s off the moment I put them on - in fact I'm listening to them as I type this review.
I used to think people who spent money on audio gear were kind of crazy, but now I get it. The money you spend on your gear doesn't just buy you the 'headphones' themselves, they also buy you the 'experience' of music. Whatever feelings you have when you listen to a good song, a song you like, they are amplified a hundred fold with the right pair of headphones. The HD 650s are the headphones for me. If you prefer a warm, comforting sound signature, that feels like laying on your favourite lazy boy and losing yourself to the music, then these are the headphones for you.
What can be said about the HD650s that hasn't already been said? Not much frankly. I'm not sure I would describe myself as an audiophile, I simply want to enjoy the music I like to the best extent possible. These are fantastic headphones well worthy of the praise and awards heaped upon them over the years. Sure, you can get more innovative headphones, but if reference sound is your ask then you won't get better at this price point. You can drive them from a variety of sources but to get the best you will need a dedicated headphone amp or DAC with sufficient grunt. I have been use the SMSL M500 and it sounds amazing - like, I get distracted from what I'm supposed to be doing kind of amazing.
It works so well with Sony NW-ZX300 with balanced 4.4mm. No amplifier is needed.
Purchased as a gift for my brother to replace old gaming headset. He loves the sounds he hears from it.
Yeah these are awesome, I have no idea why they have a star rating for noise cancelation for these being they are open back headphones. That being said this is a great next step in my quest for pure tunes turns out it works for Overwatch very well also. Not great for recording though since my mic is picking them up but that was not what I was planning to used these for. Trying with a DV later to see how much we can alter the signal and also because tubes are just cool.
With open back you're not exactly wanting noise cancelling. This is my first open back, high end headphone. I bought a fiio dac (k3) to work with it, since they're hard to drive. I must say, I don't even know why I hesitated thinking about buying these! Every song sounds 10x better than I've ever heard it before. I was able to tell the difference between Spotify extreme quality and tidal's HiFi. Buying the used pair saved me a nice bit of money too! Not even a scratch on the headphones!! They looked untouched.
This are for music mastering, not your high fidelity usual headphones, if you buy them to listen your playlist songs you'll hate them, now, if you're a producer and need the true flat line for better reference in song mastering this are a dream come true for the price.
I only use this pair of headphones to produce music now. When you produce on these, your music will sound good on all other sound systems. I still use my monitors to listen, but I dont think I can ever go back to producing on them (unless I got a sound treated room)
These are great for getting a good mix in the evening without disturbing the neighbors. Bass response is pretty nice too
I bought these after going through two "gaming" headsets and I will never go back. Advertised gaming products tend to skip out on quality for looks and lights and it's just not worth it. Take care of these, and they will last 10+ years. They have shown their value. Quality of sound is also leagues ahead. Cannot go wrong with the investment.
I really like it!
First off, I've only listened to the 600's and 650's so my experience with the brand is limited. I found these to have more bass and a wider sound stage but maybe not as precise as the 600's in projecting the image - more spread out instead of pinpoint, I suppose. Light, comfortable, detachable cord in case you trash it or rip it out of the headphones accidentally. They're open air cupped so you can hear other people and they can hear you; I'm not going to use them in close quarters with other people so that's fine by me.
I ended up getting the 600's because although the bass was full and pleasurable on these, I felt the low end was being enhanced from what was really on the recording, and it was taking attention away from the rest of the music. A nit picky thing: the 600's have the right side cord plug colored red so you can tell right away was side was what, but the 650's I tried did not have that coloring. See? Nit picky.
